There were two strategies that America took to try and prevent communism. One being the Truman Doctrine and the other being the Marshall Plan. The Truman Doctrine was when Britain pulled from Greece, to prevent communism America gave Greece 400 million dollars assuming this would prevent the situation. The other plan being the Marshall plan, when George C. Marshall (Secretary of state) he had an idea of giving money to places in Europe to help them rebuild there countries. Many countries in Europe applied for the Marshall Plan which they believed prevented the spread of communism.

In the 1950's the United States still ad a fear of communism spreading globally. In 1952 replacing Harry Truman as president for the US was Dwight D. Eisenhower. One promised he made was to end the Korean War. Eisenhower began the doctrine of containment which essentially tried to prevent communism from spreading abroad. The OAS (Latin America), CENTO (Middle East) and SEATO (SouthEast Asia) are just a few of the different locations the US hit with this plan. However Eisenhower never wanted to interfere with the Hungarian Uprising, even though Hungary had the same beliefs as the US.

The Cuban missile crisis resulted when Fidel Castro took control of Cuba just after the Cuban revolution in 1959. They aligned with the soviets, and in 1962 the soviets brought Nuclear weapons into Cuba. From here America had nailed it down to three option to deal with the scenario, which they decided a naval blockade. Do I believe that the the Cuban Missile Crisis had to do with J.F.K's assassination ?. Of course who else would have a strong enough motive, and have the right resources to kill the President than another country leader. After what America did to Cuba it would make sense that Cuba would try and get back at the states.
