Some challenges Weimar Republic had to face included the Spartakist Uprising in 1919, and the Kapp Putsch in 1920. The Spartakist Uprising started with Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg. They turned a socialist group called the Spartakists League into a German Communist Party. They tried to to take over Berlin in 1919. Unfortunately the Freikorps stopped that plan from transpiring, and Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg were brutally murdered. In the Kapp Putsch in 1920, the Freikorps were asked to disband. This leads to the march on Berlin in March 1920. The Germans end up saving the Weimar Republic with a general strike.

Hitler's began his reign of power by being a part of Germany's politics. Because of his speeches Hitler was able to attract more and more followers. From 12 members of the Nazi party in 1928 to 288 seats in 1933 the Nazi party was growing fast. The 288 seats in 1933 at the Reichstag fire election at that point made them the largest party being represented. Hitler takes Hindenberg's place when he died a month later after the Night of the Long Knives. When this happens, the Nuremberg Laws were created, mainly referring to laws that the Jews had to follow. The concept of the Aryan race (mentioned in Mein Kampf) began to grow stronger and lead to the Holocaust. In my opinion, Hitler had so much power at the time, that no one was willing to go against him, which is why I feel that was how the Holocaust was "allowed" to happen.
