Buying On Margin
- Borrowing money to buy stock in the hope that it will go up and you can repay the loan and collect the difference
In the 1920's the people were buying on the margin to try to gain as much money as possible. This however became a big problem when the stock market crashed because it led to banks having to close, and people going into severe debt.
